When Words Run Dry

You put on such a show A dazzling display Of a mean contender who'll make the play With your talk and tools You nearly had me fooled But it's forged and cheap in every way I'm in the game, if only they could see But who'd back a calamitous thing like me? So I try to emulate all that you do But my blundering fear bleeds right through. They say "you'd better try a bit harder to show us what you're worth" I guess I better play a bit smarter.
