Mountain lions are so pretty I feel pretty tough like them Wildfires burn their homes down Rabbits flee and birds ascend Raging scourges melt my mind down Ember shaded synapses Dig my nails in my dry palms As birch and timber collapses In an endless game of waiting Beneath a bright and cloudy sky While your pulse is elevating now And the tears sting in your eyes All you have is ground beneath you All you have to ground to is time That's where I'll see you That's where I'll be you And know you're mine Controlled burns account for safety Displacing the robin's nest Turquoise egg lay cracked and fractured As black smoke fills up my chest Will black ash renew the soil Manifest: the harvest is your bounty For your toll and toil Reap what you sow The rest extends
