The Stranger

I became a stranger And took a wager one deep, dark night That if I began to wander Further and farther, then I just might Find me a land Built with family and friends Maybe, might, I could call it mine But what I found Was a lonesome town With bitter souls Claiming this was my home And I said no Even if I'm alone I'm better moving on This much I know Just as the darkness grew Just as the hope did fade That's when I found you Now some may say They see the light But no not I You just reached inside And pulled me out Off that path of doubt That always led to those lonesome towns Now when we walk Our shadows are shaped as one Family or friend I'll never be a stranger again
