A Life Together

If the sweetest air to breathe If it should lie across the sea Well, wherever it may be Know that we'll be there No matter how charged with woe the scroll After all, we're young Feels like life has just begun Ain't no sense in hiding from the sun Let's go build a life together Let's go show them how We wander purposefully Through time and space and company We fear not the trials of the soul We are young, and our future's gold If the greatest beauty to behold If it should lie a million miles from home Know that we'll still walk that road Ain't no distance great enough To deter us from the trail For the world is grand And is rife with wondrous lands Let us go forward hand in hand Let's go build a life together Let's go show them how We wander purposefully Through time and space and company We fear not the trials of the soul We are young, and our future's gold Yes, our heads are filled with dreams, and some are foolish But still, we can't seem to let them go Or maybe it's just that when we take a look at Life, it's suddenly so clear That all things of value Cannot be counted or kept And if we should cease dreaming Then the wake will be valueless So we'll dream a little in the night and the morning Hell, we'll dream whenever we please We'll dream that, in foreign lands, we'll be welcomed with marching bands And we'll all parade on down the street And the music is lovely The air is fresh and clean And though we know that it's not real Such scenes aren't found only in dreams That's why we wander purposefully Through time and space and company We fear not the trials of the soul We are young, and our future's gold
