I promise you that your tears aren't the only galaxies out there for you to swim in That fractures of chipped paint on your nails aren't rivers for you to drown in That your body won't contort into something unrecognizable If you try to find yourself on another planet, another solar system, another galaxy I promise you that you're stellar I know it doesn't make sense I know he/him seems like a trip down memory lane And they/them stands looming like a shadowy figure trapped in the closet But I promise, your body doesn't need to match your insides I promise that you're still magic That you're still a star That supernovas can explode behind your eyes without anyone noticing And when the stardust settles you'll still be worth everything Even though you'd rather be freezing to death in space than say Hey I don't want you to call me that I promise that black holes aren't there to kill you I promise that a specter won't grab you if you write non-binary on your iPad I promise that painted nails aren't That dangling earrings aren't That pink crop tops aren't I promise that your body is what you make it That your universe is what you make it That you have stars behind your eyes That your body is made of stardust And all you need to do is believe That you can breathe in space
