Today I Lost My Best Friend

He was always there, standing tall, By your side through rise and fall. Watched over her with eyes so true, Did what a faithful heart must do. Kept the shadows from your door, Chased the storms, braved the war. But today, he couldn't rise, Laid his head, closed his eyes.
