Another Way

I guess I'll have to find another way To numb the pain until it goes away But how am I supposed to know the way When every step I take alone is make or break? Ya, when you look at yourself in the mirror What do you see other than fear? Is it who you could be in a meaningful way? Maybe that is the reason why God put you here So don't be discouraged, I know you've felt hopeless, I know you're afraid that one day you'll get roped in And sail away coasting the sea of those old memories From the past, back when you would relapse in a moment Your purpose is sewn in with God's hands, And that's why all your faith shouldn't fold in Cuz he wants to mold as you aim to let go of The pain in your Soul on the road you're approaching Just look at the patience he's had as you've walked and collapsed, And got up on the path to keep going Your past isn't holding you back if you trust God And pass the distractions of all your emotions I guess I'll have to find another way To numb the pain until it goes away But how am I supposed to know the way When every step I take alone is make or break? I've realized I can't grasp what love is (Can't grasp what love is) If I'm so closed and numb and broken (Numb and broken, numb and broken) Ya, try to jot about trauma down in my notes app To let it out in the hopes I'll never go back Into the thick of it, moments I hated sitting in Feelings that have been lingering since I was just a kid I would run from that and not turn back Cuz if I did, maybe I would end up stuck in the grasp Of depression's hands, or rejection and man, I don't wanna have to wrestle with those ever again And so I numb it out (numb it out, out) Deep down (deep down, down) But I've found (ya, I've found, found) That that doesn't help And so I need to stop overthinking, I cause my own problems by trying to fix them I'm only a human that numbs his emotions Till they bubble up, up, up, up and away I guess I'll have to find another way To numb the pain until it goes away But how am I supposed to know the way When every step I take alone is make or break?
