She had an I.V Line attached to her arm She seemed a bit impatient and sat on the bed Looked at me with that 'what the heck are you looking at' kinda-face Her bed lay across from mine, I had nothing else to focus my gaze on Her teeth were rotten Her skin was pale Her eyes of the yellowish type usually found on addicts of a certain kind Her name was Ivy All she wanted was more pain killers Surprisingly, nurses and doctors refused her requests I realized she'd been here before As soon as the nurse got distracted Ivy pulled the I.V line from her arm and shoved the needle down her throat I won't describe what came after A scene of blood, asphyxia, and a tragic death I remember Ivy, so frail, as life itself
