Ponzo

It all began in the South of Japan While in the city of Kumamoto, I encountered a small dog He was lost Seemed hungry and cold, in the middle of summer I took him and took care of him Named him Ponzo Two days later, while in Kagoshima Where we stayed for a week recovering from our travels Ponzo became very aggressive He would show his teeth and growl often At night he would disappear and return Just before sunrise with his snout covered with blood Stories of missing children started to surface in the local newspapers I didn't make much of it, being used to people disappearing and all One day he didn't come back Later I found out a dog carcass was found by the shore It had been dismembered by a large creature from the Kagoshima Bay No more children went missing after that I wrote this piece for Ponzo Still fresh in my memory
