The EU May Not Be Perfect

I come from the land of the brave and the home of the free Where there's beautiful and spacious skies from sea to shining sea But I don't want my grandchildren paying off my knee replacement surgery So now I'm in the EU, and it's perfect for me With important cultural heritage sites from Athens to Amsterdam A place where everyone rallies together to rebuild Notre Dame Even though transportation workers are grossly underpaid (Ja, but not me, 'cause I ride de bike) The EU may not be perfect, but it's perfect for may It's clear to me Europeans are filled with glory and pride (Filled with glory and pride) They wave flags with flying colors They no longer have to hide (They no longer have to hide) Where people come together and fight for what they believe (Fight for what they believe) From LGBTQIA to white supremacy The EU may not be perfect, but it's perfect for Sometimes there are days when I think about going back To the land of big roads and cheap gas, America f*ck yeah Then I remember the systemic racism and police brutality Oh yeah, I almost forgot, we also have Nazis We also have Nazis (We also have Nazis) So now I'm in the EU and it's the place I wanna be (I love it here) And yes there's rampant inequality for women and minorities (don't turn into America) And sure, they're screwing over other countries with weak economies (Greece) And yeah, we're being forced out of our favorite neighborhoods in our own cities (AirBnB) And there's active repression of important history (Slavery) And yeah Great Britain keeps saying they're gonna leave (no they won't, no they won't) Nobody knows what's going on with Turkey The EU may not be perfect, but it's perfect for me Oh, the EU may not be perfect, but don't worry, we'll be owned by the Chinese Owned by the Chinese
