Ever After

In the beginning, there was one chap Tryna write a Chapter One When She came along She helped him turn the page Of their story from day-to-day It was indescribably fun But now it seems As the spines are bending There's no happy ending Not on my Good Reads What started as a romance Ended as a tragedy But we could write a second book (If you give me a second look) We can change those tears to laughter We could be  Happily Ever after Ever after We'd have laughter Ever after Am I too bold, for your Italic Type? Asking for ink on the dotted line It's cos I know that we'd be fine You want our Condensed Futura? We're rolling down Ventura With a sunset in the sky But one cannot read The book which is unwritten The bullet must be bitten We've been on a Big Sleep Now say Farewell, My Lovely Or tell me that you love me And we'll write a second book (This time they'll know to look) They'll wish us years of laughter But it won't always be happily But it will be you and me Ever after Ever after We'll have la- Lots of unforeseen twists And plenty of action We've already got history So let's make this one fantastic And if our book doesn't sell Then we'll rewrite it after We're doing living our lives Through these times of disaster I'll get madder, and fatter I'll drive you up the rafters You'll call out my fictions  Be my biographer You'll laugh at my poems I'll hold your bag at the Baftas And we'll look back  As the pastures fly by faster But if you ever can't look past the afterglow Of the everlasting and you feel low If they ever scratch out my name from our list of characters In this tale told by an idiot Know you'll always have the sound of my Laughter Ever after In the end, there will be one chap Tryna write a Chapter One-Hundred
