I swear I know this I’ve been down this rocky road before Coming up toward the warning sign The word DANGER blaring in my mind But still, I fall apart from just a touch that meant nothing much Bringing back what I’ve buried to the forefront Oh I thought I saw what I had sought in your love But I’m fraught ‘cause I’d need to put my trust upfront Am I overthinking too much? Oh who could have known All it would take is a random song Where you were playing the tambourine The song where I lied saying it wasn’t about me It’s not your fault a gawk has failed to balk at your love Anyone would if they know you long enough Distraught, I’m taunted by "The One” I’ve yearned for so long I can’t trust the heart, flawed in its needs and wants Am I overthinking too much?
