So recently I said deuces to a job I was at Met a lot of great people, but wasn't for me This track is about why I said deuces Yeah I’m finally getting out I said deuces This the day I dreamed about I said deuces I don’t think I need that I said deuces There’s no way I’m going back I remember being broke all I thought about was money But once you start making it there’s more to life than money I’ve seen smart people lie just to make a little money But one thing that don’t lie is the cold hard money It was feeling like the army don’t ask don’t tell We didn’t have to work but we were paid so well Oh well I guess a lot people would have stayed But I’m like Nip see I got hustle in my DNA So I checked how much I had saved in my BOA Had enough to leave so why was I there anyway? Let me tell you a story that’s been lingering on my mind I got a bonus in my email I took it as a sign I got $100 but the taste was bittersweet Cause I been working double-time every single week That’s a rounding error So what is that to me? I make that in an hour So what is that to me? I said deuces Yeah I’m finally getting out I said deuces This the day I dreamed about I said deuces I don’t think I need that I said deuces There’s no way I’m going back I’m fine with people chilling at a job and not working But why we gotta promote the people that ain’t putting work in My 10 cents this meant discontentment always lurking I felt like my coworkers: this isn’t working This whole org was top-heavy that’s the way it goes When people hire people under them to fill in roles That they could do themselves but they too lazy to do it (Wow) Cause a lotta people love to talk about it but not do it I’m talking about work I’m talking about shipping I’m talking about the difference Between passion and commitment Passion gets you started But commitments get you through If you gotta a lot passion but no commitment then where are you?
