What You Can Control

I'm stuck here in all this doubt What you put in is what you get out Raining on my head, praying for a drought Quiet all around but I need to shout I spent too long living this way I let my mind just whither away I sat around in my room all day I never understood why I'm made this way Everything I saw was just shades of grey Up in bed but can't sleep where I lay Felt like no one in my life could just stay You can't dwell on the past, you just have to look forward The strongest tool in changing your mind is your own word I gave it to God; just let Him decide Who lives and who dies that's not a way to live your life We're here for such a short time What kind of legacy will you leave behind? You weren't put here to say you never tried You weren't put here for nights to cry Your canvas is wet, when you die it'll dry What kind of painting will you create? You can't worry about things you can't control We're all put here to fill our different roles Sometimes you don't get to pick, but it doesn't mean that you can quit Your role isn't to have no goals Your role isn't to have no self control Your role is to become whole So get up and live
