Looking for a place to think But not too hard Throw a jacket on Turn the music off Go out for a walk past the storefronts Looking sideways through the shop windows As they merge into each other And you start to feel unfocused And the grid falls over you Color schemes Vision lines Everything to a pattern Purposely designed Nothing haphazard Every shop a little world of things inside And you can only think about What's on your mind right now The door gets smaller from the other side I see in and keep moving to the next one And keep moving Everyone competing for attention And they've got mine All of them One at a time Looking for a place to sit I'll sit outside on the sidewalk As the people who I live with keep passing by
