Good ol' Days

Now it feels like it must have been, too many years ago Where we'd go, stay out all night doing anything, just going with the flow We were ready to be done with school, and wanted to be all grown But I wish I could go back and really take those moments slow Cause now we're all just working every day until the very end And I hardly ever even get the chance to see my friends Now those days seem like a goner We all got jobs, blue collar Trying to make it by saving every dollar But damn how I miss those days Where we'd invite people over and have a fire in the backyard Or when we'd go steal traffic cones and put them on each other's cars When we crashed our teacher's wedding When we got drunk, and all went sledding Damn I hate that we had to grow up I miss when we would drink until the sun would go away And the stupid arguments, over stupid things we'd say Or when we went out to the lake, and all got drunk for three days straight But now we just got bills we got to pay Damn straight It's hard to even get myself to text in our group chat Cause I ask to hang but everyone's got work, school, this and that Oh, how I miss our worry-free days, and I wish we could go back Cause damn how I miss the days When we got kicked out of that amusement park cause of the stupid lying staff And the nights we'd sit out on the boat and all we'd do is drink and laugh Even the silly things like the legendary stick that you managed to kick in half I want more memories like that When you hid inside my car and scared the real shit out of me Or when we'd go get drunk off dollar drinks at good Ol' Applebee's When we'd go into abandoned buildings, and end up running from the police I miss the days that we lived carefree I don't want to grow old anymore That is all I ask for I hope that we are able to steer our path each other's way Cause I always end up thinking about, how I miss those days Where we'd invite people over and have a fire in the backyard Or when we'd go steal traffic cones and put them on each other's cars When we crashed our teacher's wedding When we got drunk, and all went sledding Damn I hate that we had to grow up I know that we got jobs and many people we got to please But I want to make more memories and still keep all of these Because you're my best friend in the world and we make a pretty damn good team I miss when it was the world against you and me
