Forgive.

I think of my life as a movie or an ongoing book Certain things people did to me man really had me shook Don't press rewind I don't event wanna look Had all these memories on lock God in my life is what it took To let these people of the hook Cuz when it came to forgiveness I was just a rook And I didn't even know the one they call the rock And I ain't talking Dwayne Johnson But Jesus God's son Cuz on my block When somebody does you dirty You get 'em right back So I had to learn how to forgive Like Jesus did for me while I was still a sinner I had to see how to forgive And stop holding records like I'm working for Guinness I had to know how to forgive And stop acting like I'm the only one who is Sinless Needed the strength to forgive Cause Freedom really starts with forgiveness Man that was hard to take Wanted revenge my whole life Thought it would give me peace Instead I realized It was a whole Lie All these days that I hurt and cried Felt like I was about to die So much anger that was built inside Had to give it all up to God And what on the cross He achieved was to forgive So that this freedom He gave I would freely get And that's the day I finally started to live And realized that the weight of the hurt of my past Was finally off my shoulders There is no feeling that is better That's why I'm singing Thank you Father Thank you Father (I had to learn how) I had to learn how to forgive Like Jesus did for me while I was still a sinner (Thank you for showing me) I had to see how to forgive And stop holding records like I'm working for Guinness I had to know how to forgive And stop acting like I'm the only one who is Sinless Needed the strength to forgive Cause Freedom really starts with forgiveness
