Winter is for dying I hate it but it's true When it snows in Michigan We know just what to do We go in hibernation We let the green things die We hope to stay alive But every new year Keeps getting colder And much harder still To survive it sober I'm no longer a young man Kept by the warmth of his pride Winter is for dying I hate it, don't you too? When it snows in Michigan We wish for something new We sit down by the fire We forget what's outside We run out of places to hide Now some of my friends Are getting Divorced And all our best laid plans Are all changing course But they'll run away Just to discover They'll burn down one house To bleed out in another And I said what I said The darkness inside us Is fed by a flame That burns years behind us Winter is for dying I hate it but it's true When it snows in Michigan I don't know what to do
