I saw the news today, oh yeah Seems like we've gone and wrecked it all When will we ever learn To think before we burn Before we burn this all away I watched the news today, oh no I hope your hate is just for show It might sell clicks, or views, or papers But all of this is made for us To burn this all away And I might be stupid Yeah, I might be dumb I might be a fool for believing in you But I do Maybe this is all my dream If it is, I wanna scream We're all on the same team And our house is on fire I saw the news today, I guess This search for truth seems like a never-ending quest I've got no strength or time or energy To make you all my enemies Just to watch this burn away I checked the news today, oh yeah Seems like the world is gonna end Again Looks like we're comin' to a junction When we finally learn to function Or burn this all away And I might be stupid Yeah, I might be dumb I might be a fool for believing in you But I do Maybe this is all my dream If it is, I wanna scream We're all on the same team And our house is on fire But every time that I look around all I see Is the lies and the hate and the worst disease That ever made its way across all the seven seas The same evil That calls this the colonies, Can't you see But the lies you accepted don't mean the facts Aren't severely neglected The things that you think and the statues erected Don't mean the genocide should ever be respected Oh you still the Brown should assimilate In a world full of hate you create You dictate to escape in a news that is fake Then long for a time you call great Outlawing facts in the schools While even fools know all the rules Are just tools to abuse those who choose to know The truth of a society that lies and says it thrives Through adversity with diversity But the worst to me If you lie and try to deny What the whole damn world can see And I might be stupid Yeah, I might be dumb I might be a fool for believing in you I still do Yeah, Or maybe this is all my dream If it is, I wanna scream We're all on the same team And our house is on fire I hope you see the light The fire's burnin' bright I hope you finally take the time To learn I hope you see the truth It lives deep in you And Understand That this is still Indigenous land
