Blood Shrine

Unwrap my bruised skin and cut it into ribbons Snap my bones to free the muscles that hold them Braid them like rope and stream from the branches Open my rib-cage to release the gore avalanche Put my lame and unused lungs out up on the mountain My drained heart smashed on a rock and move around it My eyes stay in my skull, and into some cavern Study my palms for some yet unseen pattern The bottoms of my feet run on their own volition But you can put the rest of me in any position Melt my brain down and pour it into the roots of trees Spread my nerves wide and hang them from the leaves Cast my spinal cord in impermanent plaster "Here lies my achey bones, underneath their master" Lift my skinny wrists like antennas to the heaven Put my silly fingers back in your hands just where you found them Make cave paintings with the colors of my vision Just reflect my extreme love for repetition Put my sick thoughts back in the ground where I found them Smash my forlorn spirits next to the ruins of my passions Dig a deep grave for the consequences of my actions Burn all that's left and make diamonds from the ashes
