Nothing New

I have died three times and I know I will again My eyes are red and dry and I'm tired of waiting I have blown myself to bits and pieced myself together again This is nothing new to me Everything is slowly slipping away from me Fumbling and then out of reach I can't see anything clearly An empty star-filled sky on a foreign distant beach All the things I dream of, will they ever come to be? All the lives I tried to lead are withering away in front of me All the people I'd die to be All the things I long to see All the loves I dream to meet They all fall flat in front of me All the goals I try to seek they just seem like a waste to me I have died three times and I know I will again My eyes are red and dry and I'm tired of waiting The longer I wait the more it stings and burns, the more I can't return The more I sit the more I sink The more I think the more it seems That this was just a faulty dream mistakenly laid in front of me Tethered to the ground my roots are bound I won't be found Dragged around and muffled out Gagged and bound and forced to drown. You lay me down and spiral out. Repetitions got me down Say the same things over and over again over and over again Say the same things over and over again over and over again Use my lifeline, phone a friend I know I've been here before and I know I'll do it again I know I've been here before and I know I'll do it again Amnesia on my mind Compulsions on my plate Stuck here everyday Could this really be my fate?
