We carry things we can not name Fragments of voices Memories half-forgotten Like dust gathering on an open road Each step pulls at something deep A quiet ache A heaviness in the bones That was never fully ours to bear The past clings like worn fabric Threadbare and frayed at the edges Old hands that once held now shadows Promises given now drifting in the wind We walk in silence beneath skies that don't remember us The world moves Yet we stand still Gripping what no longer fits the shape of our lives But the weight is not a prison It is the echo of things left behind Whispering softly Telling us to release Not all that is heavy needs to be held There is freedom in loosening the grip In letting fall What has outgrown its place And as we stand Lighter than before The weight we carried becomes the ground We walk upon
