It's all gone black and white A glimpse of a silver line Crisp air, it's a winter's night She stares, longing for the sky to ignite Wishing for the world in colour New face, new place to discover Warm rays of a golden summer She lays there thinking About anything other than The here, the now, the moment In time, her mind is frozen She tries to find a focus Hides inside, leaves words unspoken Her mind is fast, her frame slows down Screams, but she can't hear a sound Sees the shadows but there's no one around Silver linings, at times it's hard to find them Blinded by the lightning and it's frightening So you hide away from all the rain Gone again another day Just know the clouds will fade And all those silver linings, they will stay They will stay and the clouds will fade Days done, she gets out of bed Steps outside for a cigarette Burns her mind with the thoughts in her head She said she's fine while she tries to forget The feeling of a broken promise She's crying cause it feels ironic, yeah A life where we can all be honest Still dreaming of a day that she'll find her solace She lies awake, it's morning Her sky is red with warning There's voices, people talking Phone lights up, her friend is calling She can't pick up, just lets it ring Pours herself another drink Her heart's in pain, but she can't feel anything Silver linings, at times it's hard to find them Blinded by the lightning and it's frightening So you hide away from all the rain Gone again another day Just know the clouds will fade And all those silver linings, they will stay They will stay and the clouds will fade
