Well I got the news today A family member passed Diagnosed with cancer back in the spring of 2019 A life gets taken, another's made A funeral A big parade The sun goes down The moon comes out Someone closes their eyes for last time in their life And a newborn child smiles The seasons come and go Tear drops fall to the ground like snow It's the bitterness that makes it taste so sweet You could be buried on a hillside Wrapped in silk with gorgeous sight that you're never ever gonna see The only guarantee in life is no one makes it out alive And the ringing of a grandfather clock as the time passes by is just another hour that we may not complete So hug your pa and kiss your mom Get on the phone and call grandma Wipe the dirt off your blue jeans Patch up the holes and re stitch the seams Those old boots still have a couple miles left The seasons come and go The rains still falling Will you float Or will you sink right to the bottom of the sea One day it's gonna be you and me Buried in the ground six feet deep On hillside with a gorgeous view We're never gonna see
