I find words can be so healing When you listen to how I'm feeling I will do the same for you if you do this for me I drank the dregs of rumination One thing I can tell you The cup is always empty and the refills are not free If you ask me my opinion about our current situation We've got to much of everything And forgotten what we need Who will listen to me try to speak my truth? I might not get the answers but at least I'll find a clue When trusting and believing Is all that I can do Take me to the one who took the burden off of you We go to happy places To put the smiles back on our faces But any medication wears off in a little while There's an unseen power In the heart that turns to prayer It's like an older soul that's playing With the inner child If you don't know where you want to go I Can't tell you how to get there Witness sorrow changing into half a knowing smile Who will listen to me try to speak my truth?
