Hi (Um) My name is Daniel James And this is my album, Self Talk Thank you for listening I really appreciate it (Um) I don't really want this to get too wordy So- thank you- again, and I hope you like it I am going to be okay This does not control me I believe in myself (Aye) I am getting stronger (Hey) I'm enough as I am (Yeah) I am worth the effort I am more than what I'm feeling right now I'm gonna be okay Self talk is so important You can tell yourself that What your feeling might not (Talk to yourself) Actually be truth It might not actually be (When you've got nobody else) Exactly- It might not be the thing That you think it is, so (It's helpful for your mind to) Talk to yourself like you would talk to a friend Who's going through something that They can't get ahold of You might be able to save that person Or yourself Back in college Depression had mileage I just kept grinding So I could keep trying To be more iconic That was so toxic Kept smoking that chronic So I could forget About you in my conscious It became often I needed someone To tell me that I'd be okay Can you promise me My therapist said Be that light for yourself I said, okay I got it now (Yeah) (Got it now) And it's really that simple If you're feeling bad Just tell yourself This is an unnecessary thought right now And try to redirect it Cause you have the power to do that If you want to have it I am going to be okay This does not control me I believe in myself (Aye) I am getting stronger (Hey) I'm enough as I am (Yeah) I am worth the effort That's gin and Ice- drink Like the Ice drinks you get from Sam's Club My mom gets them, I can't I don't have a Sam's Club membership (Gonna be okay)
