I met a man a while ago I hadn’t seen for a long, long time Ever since our childhood days, he was a pal of mine He mentioned life had not been good to him along the way But he’d tell me all about it when we’d meet another day He said I hear your songs on the radio, they play you all the time And if there’s folks around I’d say “there goes a pal of mine” But it seems that things have worked out well and you have made it through But away from the glare of the bright spotlight, tell me how are you?
