When I was 14 I'd Go to school to get read And on Sunday's I'd hear daddy Calling out from the shed It's time to go to church Cuz your sins need forgiving Thank God that's country living Soon came a time Where all the work was dead So my friends and I went By what the old folks said If you wanna get by you'd Best keep yourself driving Thank God that's country living Had a few hundred dollars To buy a table and a bed But I went out and bought me Some new guns instead Had a couple dollars left That I felt like giving Thank God that's country living Like to have a bit of fun and Shoot steal with some lead But we save a few rounds to Help us hunt and stay fed.
