By Your Side

I lived my life at my own pace And every day I'd run a race With my priorities misplaced I was rushing through my life I spent my time on things that fade Invested worry day by day Until I cried out in dismay I can't live this kind of life But then I stopped and I breathed (Lord won't you breathe life into me) There so much more than I conceived (There's more to life than this) Eternal treasure to perceive (The life prepared for Me) I turned to You and I decided to Believe You are worthy of all praise You are Lord, You are Lord I will serve You all my days You are Lord. You have called me to abide In Your love, in my life Let my spirit come alive As I wait, and I dwell By Your side I thought my life was truly blessed I lived for money and success Yet all the time that I invest Is just building hay and straw I need to make a holy choice To stop and listen to Your voice For only then can I rejoice In Your Spirit in Your law Lord I've not put You in 1st place I've sought Your hand but now it's time to seek Your face
