I Dream

I dream of the stars at night I dream of the cars in flight I dream of what is yet to be I dream of things I'll never see I'm the artist in the sand Seeking things not made by hand I'm the master of my fate But only when I stay up late I've dreamt I've dreamed a thousand dreams Doesn't mean I remember anything The mind active and free When the user is asleep A-hundred-nine a-hundred-ten The sheep I count again and again Waiting for my mind to rest So it can do what it does best My power is beyond control When my mind's asleep it doesn't know Limitations of the mind Are just suggestions at that time I've seen the things you want to see I've seen all eternity I know what the universe thinks I can make the stars all link I'm the alpha to this land All the power's in my hand I'm the master when asleep I'll do whatever I damn-well please You may think me cruel and harsh But they're just fragments of my thoughts They don't mean anything to me They only exist when I'm asleep I can spin the wheels of fate I can kill all the people I hate I'm a monster that's unleashed on the people in my sleep This isn't murder, that's a fact I torture them pleasure for a laugh A-thousand innocents die tonight I sleep to their screams with my delight
