Adapt or die... purify Can't compete... obsolete There's no respite, nothing's fair (Start right now, new bridges to burn) No better time, time to learn (Signs of life, no way to discern) Creatures of habit, never dare (New days pass, more rigid the stance) When will this tide ever turn? (Just one chance) Plod through my days taking refuge in ignorance Deaf from the roar of my cognitive dissonance Blissfully blind to the mirror's malevolence Bitter and scarred the result of my negligence Time laughs out loud as i cling to the notion The sky somehow cares for this drop in the ocean Feeling the victim i search for a potion Some way to stop this invincible motion A star explodes... breath corrodes Resistance grows... voltage blows No comfort, no bliss No satan's abyss No stairway to miss No sky left to kiss She said love what you do cause it always ends here Broken not beaten no victim no fear She smiled from her hospital bed that cold day All this will someday be taken away
