Magician's Tale

The path at my feet starts with a rose This road seems never ending A singular path surrounded by water Maybe Maybe it's been this way the whole time No fateful opportunities to find free will I wonder what's underneath something So colossal and still Maybe it will lead to home Or even where the wild things roam Anywhere is better than inside Even though i've tought inside to smile I think to take pictures but than I realize I would rather be in this moment alone Than to ever share it with another soul Mist at knee length as far as I can see The wind is chill A slight breeze on a face that's cold Without any snow Sometimes it hurts to breath I've come this far I don't think I could even find my way back if I wanted to Maybe if I keep going I'll get everything I've wanted too Happiness Is something that most try to find in the bottom of their favorite bottle Or at the bottom of a baggie But have you experienced it in love I've found it in a shrub Love was my drug of choice Always trying to successfully achieve something I knew was never obtainable Always chasing a ghost Wishing something on a star that could never come true Maybe that path lead to this path and this path lead to that one and that one led me to you You gave me more of a thrill than I could ingest I find comfort in these unfamiliar waters That's a rock in a hard place if I've ever heard of one Metal capacity is a reflection of you The way it bends your mind Allows you to live alongside time Time no longer exists on this adventure Has day bled into the night already There's a tree in the path ahead Theres a forest ahead of me It stretches as far as the eye can see In the heart of it all The branch snaps The crunching leaves Autumn colors and winter solstice Start to blend This tree looks completely healthy but is absolutely dead Maybe this tree is me I place the Rose at its feet The rose suddenly takes root And glows brighter than the sun The rose levitates It turns to stone Then to gold Now it's gone Before it left it I was Embraced with the warmest sensation I've ever felt
