Worn Down

Pulled to the dark Why? My dreams are ripped away from me The only reason I have for living All my life I've only known failure A test of sheer perseverance My will carried me through the depths And trudging through the murky waste Waves upon waves of torrential rejection Only pushed me farther and harder The cold pulls me under Drowning me in the sick Sinking deep into the darkness Where peace is nowhere found The futility of it all collapses upon me Showing me Everyday that I'm not worth while My body and my mind stare into oblivion Wishing and hoping that I too will see my aspiration Instead of baring witness to my own weariness Count my failures and slam them back on me They've hardened me into a dead machine My heart is no longer full I've wasted my youth I've thrown my life away All for the sake of a lost dream I need to wake up I need to wake up
