Young and Blind

I'm not perfect and honestly never claimed to be Chasing after dreams that are little more real than make believe Doubters down my back my back 'cause imperfect is all that they can see Take away the hate and their mind is blank, it's a vacancy But maybe there's some truth to people doubting my fire Pen and pad to medicate until this feeling retires Often wonder where I'm going with this life that I've been living Where do I even begin to place a meaning to this life Or is it nothing? Maybe there's no meaning to find And all these problems only live within my mansion of mind Or maybe I should get to praying for assistance divine Being marched into tomorrow and can't break from the line Create from my mind the picture that's just starting to show I'm not sure of where I'm headed, where I'm likely to go But I've always got the music, soothing, guiding my flow And if the future comes-a-knocking then I don't really know Young and blind, young and blind I don't know where I'm supposed to go now, go now, no Young and blind, young and blind How do I grow up when I don't know how? Know how, yeah I've been thinking in my room, up all night in the dark I've been looking for myself, searching deep for a spark Introspective, my perspective isn't taking me far No directive, look ahead and it's just faded out stars Faded like leaves, the people that I thought I would be But lately it seems like all of them are farther from me I'm chasing my dreams but they keep getting harder to reach Scraping my knees, the climb is still so far from the peak Let's take it back to me back at my youngest And selling out concerts inside of my room Let's take it back to me over a year ago Scared of a passion I wouldn't pursue Let's take it back to me writing these poems And dreaming of things that I never could do Never imagined I'd be making music for real But I'm here and I'm telling the truth Kinda confused, yeah it's my passion but That doesn't always put food on my plate Yeah it's my talent but that doesn't mean That I'm gonna be noticed for being this great Yeah I make music with heart and emotion but Music with feeling won't always get played Yeah I'm determined but feeling determined Just doesn't determine for certain my fate Young and blind, young and blind I don't know where I'm supposed to go now, go now, no Young and blind, young and blind How do I grow up when I don't know how? Know how, yeah I just wanna find my way and make it to that better place Chasing more than dollar signs, I just want my peace of mind Don't know what I hope to find, all I am is young and blind
