On Paper

On Paper I read a story about a man Who vanished over the Atlantic in a single engine jet It made me wonder about his life And if he did the things he wanted, if he had any regrets It made me think about my own And if I’m living out the vision that I had when I was young Or did I let it get away? Busy waiting for tomorrow ‘stead of chasing down the sun Waiting for tomorrow ‘stead of chasing down the sun If I could move out of my head Learn to live inside the moment and forget about the rest Then I could love the way I want Never worry about the weather just the pounding in my chest And I could say the things I mean I could reason with my demons, maybe even strike a deal And be ok with what I am I know it looks so good on paper but that’s never how it feels Looks so good on paper but that’s never how it feels Nobody knows what’s gonna happen Nobody knows how long they’ve got I’m taking everything for granted I wonder if I’ll ever stop Nobody knows what’s gonna happen Nobody knows just what you’ve got I only know the days are passing A little faster than I thought
