Thorn in My Flesh

It started some decades ago in my past A drama in which I was unwillingly cast Anxiety clouded my mind so fast Crying alone, how long it would last Days turned to weeks, then months, then years Tried acting happy while choking back tears Each day was getting more lost in my fears Started to hate who I saw in the mirror My heart would start to skip a few beats Then I got sick every time I would eat My body would shiver, I'd crank up the heat Convinced myself that death I would meet I felt so stressed I couldn't unwind Searching for answers, but few i would find Reclusive at times, so lost in my mind Thank God for my wife, she was always so kind Please God take this thorn Take this thorn from me Please God take this thorn Come heal and set me free Please God take this thorn Take it out of me Please God take this thorn Not mine but your will be I remember one year I hit a low I begged the Lord please let me go It wasn't time so He said no Some answers soon He'd send me though Like Paul prayed to remove his thorn The body and the mind gets worn The younger me I'd often mourn Broken me I'd view with scorn Sick one morning I soon did wake I knew my Lord would not forsake Counsel and His grace I'd take A plan for mercy He would make Even though my body fails Through all the weakness strength prevails My saviors' hands were pierced with nails The risen Christ, in Him I hail Please God take this thorn Take this thorn from me Please God take this thorn Come heal and set me free Please God take this thorn Take it out of me Please God take this thorn Not mine but your will be Oh please God take this thorn Take this thorn from me Please God take this thorn Come heal and set me free Please God take this thorn Take it out of me Please God take this thorn Not mine but your will be
