I Had a Little Dream

I had a little Dream and I put it in my pocket And I walked on down the road I danced with the sun and I really kind of liked it As I watched my day unfold I met a little bird who said that this'll Be a day to take my ease So I sang a little tune and gave a little whistle And the leaves laughed in the breeze And all around I heard the sounds of a forest that was alive As I sat in the shade of the trees While sitting down I suddenly found a wonderful surprise The life of the forest re-awakened life in me The babbling brook was playing with the fishes What a happy little game says I Then I closed my eyes with my head full of wishes As the sun sailed 'cross the sky I opened my eyes to the singing of the crickets As the moon whispered hello I gave a little nod and told him that I think it's Time for me to go And all around I heard the sounds of a forest that was alive As I sat in the shade of the trees While sitting down I suddenly found a wonderful surprise The life of the forest re-awakened life in me
