Best Day of My Life

I was a thief, I deserved to die They turned me over to be crucified This may sound strange, but amidst the pain and strife, that day was the best day of my life! They drove the nails into our hands and feet, then laughed in scorn when their job was complete The far cross on that hill held another just like me, but the middle man came from Galilee They said his name was Jesus Christ-the King But, I knew an innocent man was suffering "Father, forgive them for they know not what they do" Forgive them after all that he's been through? How could He forgive them after all that He's been though Then I realized the Son of God was hanging on that tree I'd heard Messiah would one day die for you and me "When in thy kingdom Lord, remember me", I prayed He turned and said, "Thou shalt be with me there today I was a thief, I deserved to die They turned me over to be crucified This may sound strange, but amidst the pain and strife, that day was the best day of my life! That day was the best day of my life! That day was the day I met Jesus Christ!!
