On a kitchen table in a house on a hill Sits a photo of a lonely flower on a window sill When I think of it I always think of you And wonder if you still recall this lonely flower too WE would sit at this window and talk of nothing all day Just looking at the back yard and a field full of flowers Remember how we walked that day It was warm and breezy WE just walked side by side Peacefully and silently Then we picked a flower from that field The one we loved the most, the one with most appeal We took it back and put it in a pot on the sill We watered it each day hoping it would grow So I took a picture of it to be sure it would never fade away I look at the photo if I am tired or I'm sad And though it's been years since I've seen your eyes or touched your hand I know that lonely flower in the photo on the sill Will always keep your memory in me alive and well
