Ashes

I used to have all of these dreams Now I'm just tryng to sleep I used to be so unafraid Thought I could do anything I used to think that I could lose it all And I'd just start again But now I see this mess before me I don't know where to begin We watched it all go up in flames I never thought we'd end this way But now we're standing in the ashes ashes So I've been trying to notice wha'st going on inside Am I wrong or right in the dark or the light They say that nothing burns that wasn't once alive But when it's said and done still gotta pick a side And if I knew what I know now that night Would I still get swallowed up by pride Cause I'd give anything to make it right We watched it all go up in flames I never thought we'd end this way But now we're standing in the ashes ashes
