Caught in the Fire

I’m writing to you as I watch you sleep I’m half full of hope, half agony If you pushed out the poison you take each day You would see life and pain in a different way I’ll fight until the end I feel the heat on my skin The smokes coming in on us The cycle’s getting tired Better get out before we expire We won’t get caught in the fire We won’t get caught in the fire We could go up in flames Or get away We wont get caught in the fire Each day it feels like we start again Your ambivalence that I’m captive in But you give me a taste of your pale white skin Salt on my tongue feels like medicine I’d rather feel the pain Than nothing at all As the world falls down on us I wouldn’t change a moment Becoming strong where we were broken We won’t get caught in the fire We won’t get caught in the fire We could go up in flames Or we could get away We wont get caught in the fire Will we arrive or just burn out? We we arrive of just burn?
