This life has been amazing in so many ways I’ve lived through so many special times I’ve suffered through the tears that came with all the years I’ve been alive I was foolish long ago Did dumb things and didn’t know If I died I’d spend eternity in hell But I fell down to my knees and asked the Savior if He’d please Save my soul Cause I’m longing for my home I can’t wait to see the throne Jesus take my hand And guide me to my heavenly home I’m not afraid of death since I let Jesus in my heart The grave is not my final resting place A little faith is all it took to get me in that big old book of life This bodies all used up and can’t do much anymore It’s hard to get around without some pain But I know when I get home I’ll be running round just like a kid again Cause I’m longing for my home I can’t wait to see the throne Jesus take my hand And guide me to my heavenly home This world has grown on me but I can’t wait to leave It’s hard to say goodbye to those I love Don’t try to keep me here what’s next is very clear Eternity in heaven with my Lord I fought a war in Europe and held babies in my arms I kissed my sweetheart on a moon lit night But when I get up there I’ll worship at the feet of Jesus Christ My friends have all passed on and my kids have all grown up In fact they have grand kids of their own Don’t grieve when I leave I’ll be happy as can be in my new home Cause I’m longing for my home I can’t wait to see the throne Jesus take my hand And guide me to my heavenly home Cause I’m longing for my home I can’t wait to see the throne Jesus take my hand And guide me to my heavenly home Jesus take my hand And guide me to my heavenly home
