Greenland Bound

Tornadoes in the heartland Hurricanes down south California's burning to the ground Packed my bags I'm leaving the good ol' USA Come tomorrow I'll be Greenland bound I'm movin' to Greenland oh it'll be great I hear we're gonna make it the fifty-first state Nothing but snow and rocks As far as the eye can see Forget my troubles and climate change fears The way things are looking in a couple more years I reckon I'll be sitting on some Prime beachfront property You know the middle-class it's disappearing fast Followed closely by the middle ground Extremist politicians on both the left and right Lack the common sense to turn things around On the steps of the Supreme Court building I saw a sign today that read "For Sale" And a felon got re-elected president Just to keep himself from going to jail I'm movin' to Greenland oh it'll be great I hear we're gonna make it the fifty-first state Nothing but snow and rocks As far as the eye can see Forget my troubles and climate change fears The way things are looking in a couple more years I reckon I'll be sitting on some Prime beachfront property Lately it feels like the home of the brave and the hard-fought-for land of the free That dream of America no longer exists For simple folks like you and me One thing they don't have in Greenland Is all those Billionaire oligarchs But they also don't have homeless camps Set up in all their public parks I'm movin' to Greenland oh it'll be great I hear we're gonna make it the fifty-first state Nothing but snow and rocks As far as the eye can see Forget my troubles and climate change fears The way things are looking in a couple more years I reckon I'll be sitting on some Prime beachfront property Where the only things keeping me up at night Will be the midnight sun and the northern lights No internet or constant TV news Oh the snow may blind me the frost may bite But moving to Greenland just feels right Away from all that's giving me the blues With everything happening in this country I think it might be time for me to leave Change my address and have them forward my mail Where the water's clean and the air is safe to breathe So goodbye to America the beautiful I reckon I'll be seeing you around I'm headed North to build me a cabin Where I can finally stand on solid ground And I'll say So long It's been good to know ya So long It's been good to know ya So long It's been good to know ya This dumpster fire Is destroying my home And I've got to be moving along
