How & Why & Who Am I

When will I be leaving this womb For I can hear a commotion in the room It's so warm inside all curled up tight But I'm increasingly attracted to the light To the light When will I be fully grown and How on earth am I supposed to be shown And how I am to be as good as gold As I come tumbling down into this world Why will I feel happy and sad How will I recognize the good from the bad And from which side will I have to choose Why when some people win others must lose Others must lose How and Why and Who am I And as I grow stronger and begin to learn to play The games of children who'll be adults one day To face the bully boys or to walk away To reflect upon all of this or fight another day Or find another way When will I see a world that's fully grown When on earth bad seeds have been sown The good die young so that others live on No one will ever know who cast the first stone No one will ever know who cast the first stone How and why and who am I
