Impermanence

We mean nothing here Have no fear Don't be surprised When, at the end of life You find your meaning derived from Cause and effect It's not what you expect There's a hidden purpose When you think you've found it Look again All there is Here and now I remember looking at a tree It's not what you expect Precariously hanging over a river What seemed to me as a child A permanent fixture of my surroundings Succumbing to a river as ancient to it As the tree was to myself And so in our impermanence Maybe we can find a place for ourselves
