I've got a girlfriend in the city You can't break up if you don't date Fire a text off as I'm heading down She replies with the place It's usually at some fancy arcade Her band's got a tour coming up I joke that I can drive There's people wrapped around the building but we walk straight in She's known the owner her entire life I love never having to wait in line When we walk in she spots someone she's not seen since high school But I get her all to myself at the pinball table You're right it's not ideal but I'll take what I can get from this cruel world I know I'm not taking her home but I do not care at all It's just nice to be one of the directions in which she is pulled So I'll put that dream on the shelf But I still get her all to myself at the pinball table
