I Wake Up Tired

I'm out of it But we're all a little out of it Sometimes we feel fit Like we're going to spend the rest of it You've worked so hard You've been running all around the yard Then why do you feel so small Like you've never had a thing at all? I wake up tired There'll be one more hour of sleep required But I work to get up And I put some coffee in my cup Then nature takes its course And it hits us all with astonishing force Then we retire "Hallelujah" sings the choir And a minute after ten, they'll light up the pen And let the people all go for a walk And as soon as they're done they'll take a second one In addition to a good old talk And a quarter after seven feels like ten to eleven As we're walking on down the marsh And the people all shout as they're swimming about "Isn't this a bit too harsh"?
