Gotta Thank God (Once Again)

Excuse me. May I have your undivided attention Got a few things I really have to mention Don't wanna talk about fantasies or superstitions Yo, this is real talk. I'm on another mission Not here to preach, but I figured it'll best if I State some facts, in other words testify About the greatness of God and His abilities Giving me strength while I maintain stability At times I often swear, yes I am a sinner I have fell short, my chances got thinner Guilty of backsliding, brought shame upon myself I called out to God because I've needed help He reached inside my soul and turned my life around I'm smiling nowadays, no longer will I frown Even though my so-called friends turned their backs and deserted me He remained by my side, took away the hurt in me For the joy He brings (Gotta thank God) For the song I sing (Gotta thank God) For every word I speak (Gotta thank God) For the air I breathe (Gotta thank God) For waking me up this morning (Gotta thank God) While I'm stretching and yearning (Gotta thank God) For helping me make a way (Gotta thank God) Each and every day (Gotta thank God) I was surrounded by pain, surrounded by hurt Surrounded by people who've treated me like dirt Surrounded by greed, surrounded by lust Surrounded by people who I couldn't even trust Surrounded by hatred, got my name scandalized I was physically and mentally vandalized I've seen events that've confused and bewildered me And through it all, it was He who delivered me He took me as I am, no makeovers involved Any problems I have, best believe it's solved God's in control, he has a game plan His love and concern made me a better man I'm walking around with God's love in my heart It won't disentegrate, it will never fall apart Yes, the Lord is real, He's very far from phony Thanks once again for listening to my testimony For the joy He brings (Gotta thank God) For the song I sing (Gotta thank God) For every word I speak (Gotta thank God) For the air I breathe (Gotta thank God) For waking me up this morning (Gotta thank God) While I'm stretching and yearning (Gotta thank God) For helping me make a way (Gotta thank God) Each and every day (Gotta thank God)
