Forasmuch as it hath pleased Almighty God Of his great mercy to take unto himself The soul of our dear brother here departed We therefore commit his body to the ground Earth to earth, ashes to ashes, dust to dust In sure and certain hope of the Resurrection to eternal life Through our Lord Jesus Christ Who shall change our vile body That it may be like unto his glorious body According to the mighty working Whereby he is able to subdue all things to himself Almighty God, the cosmic G With mercy infinite, He set one free Soul ascended, no time for mournin' Brothers, stay strong, this life's borrowin' Ashes to ashes, dust to dust Return to the Earth, it's ancient rust Ascend with hope, without no fear Waitin' on that resurrection cheer Descended low, risen again The Jesus flex, our faith sustained Vile bodies break, but souls don't perish Recreated fly, like God almight' Earth to earth, the rhythm of life Resonance ancient, cuttin' like a knife From dust we came, and now we see The afterglow, eternal destiny Through struggle and peace, through pain and joy Know the body's asleep, but the soul employs The realms unseen, beyond our view An evolution of spirit, brand new And in this hope, our strength remains In gratitude, we'll sing His praise With humility, our hands we fold For what is lent, His to control
