Tranquility fades I find myself restless My thoughts are a burden My mind is like an itch I cannot reach Pacing my room Wisdom is escaping me I cannot find my faith And I am weary I had hoped that I might find a secret meaning I had hoped that I might read your thoughts and find a larger Truth I had hoped that one day, I might stand unchained But I am losing light I am awake Everyone else is sleeping I wonder what they're dreaming I wonder if their world is grey like mine I hear your voice I can tell that you are smiling I wonder, can you tell That I'm afraid There are days, when nothing feels impossible There are nights like this, when I can't sleep, and everything is wrong I had plans, to build a life worth living But I am losing time Jealous and vain I watch you from a distance I cannot force my legs to cross the room Searching your face No hint of what you're thinking I cannot break the cipher in your eyes When I sleep, I sometimes dream that we are closer When I wake, I find that we are still apart I had hoped, that one day we would stand unchained But I am losing faith
